Senior Program Manager - Commercialization (Rare Disease)
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, you will be a strategic partner to leaders of the Product Teams to enable the success and implementation of the strategic vision of the program.
Implementation of our strategy occurs via three cross-functional sub-teams called Work Package Teams (WPTs). The WPTs include:
Evidence Generation Teams (EGTs) focusing on the holistic evidence generation plan and strategy to support registration, access, and use.
Product Delivery Teams (PDTs) that concentrate on operations/manufacturing and supply chain activities.
Integrated Brand Teams (IBTs) that are committed to integrated global brand planning across global marketing, value and access, and medical affairs teams.
The Commercialization Senior Program Manager (SPM) will drive the development, creation, and implementation of high quality, global, coordinated cross-functional project plans for products in accordance with the program strategy. In addition, the SPM may be asked to lead and/or participate in special department, cross-functional, or team projects.
The SPM supports the cross-functional drug development and commercialization activities of pipeline or inline products at Amgen and will report into the Director of Global Program Management. We are open to discussions about location flexibility or remote work arrangements; however, co-location with the headquarter in Thousand Oaks or Deerfield, IL is preferred.
This SPM role will support the Integrated Brand Team (IBT) for a development program in the Rare Disease Therapeutic Area and be responsible for driving the success of the IBT for ongoing and upcoming global launches, as well as in planning for new Patient Impact Expansion opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
Partnering with functional leads to develop high quality, integrated, cross-functional plans for cross-functional sub-teams that are aligned with the overall program strategy
Ensuring cross-functional alignment and accountability
Driving the development and timely completion of annual WPT goals and input to the Global Product Strategy
Facilitating resource planning, financial and capacity assessments as needed
Documenting issues, decisions and action items of functional work package teams and ad hoc project team meetings
Conducting the risk management and scenario planning and develops contingency and/or risk mitigation plans
Coordinating activities with external business partners and alliances, where applicable; contributing to a successful partnership outcome
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of relevant experience
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Relevant experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Cross-functional drug development experience, including experience in either commercial and commercialization functions
Program and project management skills with experience in a healthcare-related environment, operationalizing strategic initiatives, including cross-functional strategic planning, development of integrated plans, monitoring and driving execution to plan, and navigating governances
Emotional intelligence skills including influencing without authority and navigating within a matrix environment
Experience using Project Management tools, methodologies, practices and infrastructure, as related to the Biopharmaceutical Industry

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
