Grad Intern - Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism (Summer 2025)

What You Will Do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. The Quantitative Pharmacology (QP) group within the PKDM department is seeking summer intern for 2025. During this program, you will be working within the Pharmacokinetics & Drug Metabolism (PKDM) department at Amgen. This group is dedicated to the discovery and development of novel, effective, and safe medicines. The department focuses on understanding the PK/PD properties of large and small-molecule drug candidates developed across multiple therapeutic areas in Amgen’s pipeline. The PKDM QP group is responsible for preclinical and translational modeling to provide drug development decisions. For the internship program, we are seeking candidates pursuing research in pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics (PK/PD) with a focus on mechanistic mathematical modeling and quantitative pharmacological approaches. The intern will work closely with a QP scientist to develop and apply fit-to-purpose mechanistic mathematical models (PKPD/SoA/PBPK) to support therapeutic drug development and create novel quantitative capabilities.
