Business Performance Senior Manager
What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. The Commercialization Portfolio Management Office (PMO) is responsible for maintaining and improving Amgen’s Commercialization Framework. Amgen’s Commercialization framework touches nearly every aspect of what we do to discover, develop, and deliver life-changing therapies to our patients. The Commercialization Framework drives an ecosystem of processes that facilitates complex cross-functional collaboration, coordination, and portfolio decisions to deliver an innovative pipeline of therapies to our patients.
In this vital role the Senior Project Manager (SPM) is responsible for driving the establishment, implementation, monitoring, and improvement of cross-functional, fit-for-purpose processes within the Commercialization framework. In this role, you will work closely with Amgen’s cross-functional portfolio and product leaders to develop, implement, monitor, control, and improve tools and business processes to enable product teams to deliver innovative therapies to patients. You will also help to identify improvement opportunities through stakeholder feedback and any observed inefficiencies within the Commercialization Framework.
The Senior Project Manager will report into the Senior Director of Commercialization Model Innovation within the Commercialization PMO.
Responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager include:
Understanding and positioning each business process in the context of Amgen’s Commercialization framework strategy and objectives
Managing Commercialization business processes and leads cross-functional, high-impact projects to solve for new challenges or optimize existing business processes
Developing and implementing project strategies to deliver high-quality, high-impact solutions as well as stakeholder engagement plans
Owning the business process map with supporting tools, capabilities, and process guidance
Providing thought leadership into process improvement strategies by developing a deep understanding of Commercialization processes and the voice of the customer
Partnering with cross-functional leaders to identify process interdependencies and collaborative solutions
Leading and facilitating workshops and project teams to develop and deliver process improvement solutions
Establishing success metrics and leading indicators to monitor process effectiveness
Implementing best practices and ensuring cross-functional alignment and accountability
Identifying project issues or resource gaps and facilitating resolution
Models Amgen’s Decision, Advice, inform (DAI) behaviors and drives team adherence to the DAI framework for effective decision making and results delivery

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree and 2 years of relevant experience
Or
Master’s degree and 4 years of relevant experience
Or
Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of relevant experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of relevant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree or strong demonstration of equivalent combination of relevant educational and professional training experience in leading cross-functional teams
Industry experience in the Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or other Healthcare-related field
Drug Development knowledge with basic to strong understanding of other functions relevant to the position which may include: Research, Preclinical, Clinical, Manufacturing, Commercial and Regulatory
Consistent track record of implementing Project Management tools, methodologies, practices and infrastructure, as related to the Biopharmaceutical Industry.
Program and project management skills with experience operationalizing central initiatives, including cross-functional strategic planning, development of integrated plans, monitoring and driving execution to plan
Independent, motivated, team member highly effective navigating a matrix environment
Emotional intelligence skills including influencing without authority

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
